Our world class AI-enabled, Big Data analytics platform, analyses data collected from different sources (smartphone, OBD, connected cars etc.) which can determine the driving risk and different mobility patterns. Leveraging advanced Machine Learning, we achieve with great accuracy the detection of several risk factors including aggressive braking & acceleration events, driving over the speed limits and mobile use while driving.  


At OSeven we are working in agile teams, most of us fully remote, but with the option to walk in our office in Chalandri, Athens. 

 

Role 

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Data Engineer to join our cross-functional Data team and play a key role in the development, support and optimization of data ingestion and processing pipelines. You will work closely with the Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers of the team as well as the Platform Engineers and Analysts and are expected to play a critical part in the evolution of our Big Data architecture.  

 

What will you be doing:  

  • Develop, maintain and optimize Data ETL/ELT and ingestion pipelines in the cloud. 
  • Execute queries using Databricks and Apache Spark. 
  • Monitor and optimize the DS/ML microservices. 
  • Always be security and compliance aware 
  • Be a member of a Scrum or Kanban team. Always willing to lend a hand to achieve team and product goals 
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions on automation, technology and processes to improve cross-team collaboration 

  

Requirements  
 

Must have skills:  

  • Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Software Engineering or Data Engineering role in Java, Scala or Python  
  • Working knowledge of distributed systems using Apache Spark. Experience in using Databricks is preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Git 
  • Deep Understanding of SQL, from compiling queries to analyzing and optimizing performance 
  • Be a good communicator, be constructive and show empathy to others 
  • Fluency in English 

 

Nice to have:  

  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes 
  • Familiarity with Cloud Provider Services such as Amazon or Azure 
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery
